Ultra Web Hosting Docs

Nameservers

To connect your domain to your Ultra Web Hosting account, you need to update the nameservers at your domain registrar. This tells the internet where to find your website and email.

Ultra Web Hosting Nameservers

Point your domain to the following nameservers:

ns1.ultranameservers.com
ns2.ultranameservers.com
ns3.ultranameservers.com
Note Your welcome email may list different nameservers specific to your server. Always use the nameservers provided in your welcome email if they differ from the ones shown above.

How to Update Nameservers

The process varies slightly depending on your domain registrar. Below are instructions for the most popular registrars.

GoDaddy

  1. Log into your GoDaddy account.
  2. Go to My Products and find your domain.
  3. Click DNS or Manage DNS next to the domain.
  4. Scroll down to the Nameservers section and click Change.
  5. Select Enter my own nameservers (advanced).
  6. Enter ns1.ultranameservers.com, ns2.ultranameservers.com, and ns3.ultranameservers.com.
  7. Click Save and confirm the change.

Namecheap

  1. Log into your Namecheap account.
  2. Go to Domain List and click Manage next to your domain.
  3. Find the Nameservers section.
  4. Change the dropdown from "Namecheap BasicDNS" to Custom DNS.
  5. Enter ns1.ultranameservers.com, ns2.ultranameservers.com, and ns3.ultranameservers.com.
  6. Click the green checkmark to save.

Google Domains / Squarespace

  1. Log into your Squarespace Domains account (formerly Google Domains).
  2. Select your domain.
  3. Go to DNS in the left sidebar.
  4. Click Custom name servers.
  5. Enter ns1.ultranameservers.com, ns2.ultranameservers.com, and ns3.ultranameservers.com.
  6. Click Save.

Cloudflare

If your domain is registered through Cloudflare, note that Cloudflare acts as both registrar and DNS provider. To use Ultra Web Hosting's nameservers instead of Cloudflare's:

  1. Log into your Cloudflare dashboard.
  2. Select your domain.
  3. Go to DNSRecords.
  4. Instead of changing nameservers (which Cloudflare requires to be their own), add an A record pointing your domain to your hosting server's IP address, and set the proxy status to DNS only (grey cloud).
Tip If you want to use Cloudflare's CDN and security features alongside Ultra Web Hosting, keep Cloudflare's nameservers and simply update the A record in Cloudflare to point to your hosting server's IP address. You can find your server IP in your welcome email or in cPanel under Server Information.

Other Registrars

The general process is the same at any registrar:

  1. Log into your domain registrar's control panel.
  2. Find the domain management or DNS settings page.
  3. Look for a "Nameservers" option.
  4. Switch from the default nameservers to custom nameservers.
  5. Enter ns1.ultranameservers.com, ns2.ultranameservers.com, and ns3.ultranameservers.com.
  6. Save the changes.

Propagation Time

After updating your nameservers, the change needs to propagate across the internet. This typically takes:

During propagation, some visitors may see your old site while others see the new one. This is normal.

You can check propagation status using whatsmydns.net by looking up the NS record for your domain.

Warning Changing nameservers will move all DNS control to Ultra Web Hosting. If you had custom DNS records at your previous provider (like MX records for Google Workspace or Microsoft 365), you'll need to recreate them in cPanel's Zone Editor before or immediately after switching nameservers to avoid email downtime.
