WHM Basics for Resellers
WHM (Web Host Manager) is the control panel that comes with your reseller account. It sits one level above cPanel and lets you create and manage the individual cPanel accounts you sell to your customers.
WHM Versus cPanel
It helps to understand the two panels and how they relate:
- WHM is your administrative panel as a reseller. From it you create cPanel accounts, build hosting packages, suspend or terminate accounts, and set branding. Think of WHM as the tool you use to run your hosting business.
- cPanel is the panel each of your customers uses to manage their own website, email, files, and databases. Every account you create in WHM gets its own separate cPanel login.
You have one WHM login for your whole reseller account, and every customer account you create has its own individual cPanel login.
Logging In to WHM
There are two easy ways to reach WHM:
- Sign in to the client area and use the one-click WHM login button on your reseller product page. This is the simplest method and requires no separate password.
- Or go directly to your server hostname on port 2087, for example
https://your-server-hostname:2087, and sign in with your WHM username and password.
The Reseller Home Screen
When you first log in, WHM opens to a home screen with a search box in the top-left corner and a categorized list of tools down the left side. The fastest way to find any feature is to type a keyword into the search box — for example Create, List, or Packages — and WHM filters the menu instantly.
Key Areas in WHM
As a reseller you will spend most of your time in a handful of tools:
- Account Information — View your overall usage, list accounts, and see bandwidth and disk consumption across your customers.
- List Accounts — See every cPanel account you own, with quick actions to change package, suspend, unsuspend, or terminate.
- Create a New Account — Provision a new cPanel account for a customer.
- Terminate an Account — Permanently remove an account and all its data.
- Suspend or Unsuspend an Account — Temporarily disable an account, for example for non-payment, without deleting anything.
- Packages — Create and edit the hosting plans you assign to accounts.
- Password Modification — Reset the cPanel password for any account you own.
- Log in to a customer's cPanel — From List Accounts, click the cPanel icon next to an account to jump straight into that customer's panel for support.
- Feature Manager — Build feature lists that control which cPanel tools appear for each package.
- Reseller Center — Review the limits that apply to your reseller account.
Your Reseller Limits
Your reseller account has an overall allotment of disk space, bandwidth, and a maximum number of accounts. These totals are set by Ultra Web Hosting on your reseller plan, and every cPanel account and package you create draws from that shared pool.
Where to Get Help
If you get stuck configuring WHM or need help with something outside your control, such as raising your reseller limits or restoring a full backup, open a support ticket. Include your reseller username and a clear description of what you need so our team can assist quickly.
