Calendars & Contacts (CalDAV/CardDAV)

Keep your calendars and address book in sync across every device using the CalDAV and CardDAV standards built into cPanel. Add an event on your phone and it appears on your Mac moments later.

How Syncing Works

CalDAV syncs calendars and CardDAV syncs contacts, both hosted on the same server as your email. Just like IMAP keeps your mail identical on every device, CalDAV and CardDAV keep your events and contacts up to date everywhere you sign in.

Note Changes sync in both directions. An appointment you add on your laptop shows up on your phone, and a contact you edit on your phone updates on your laptop.

Finding Your Configuration URL

  1. Log into cPanel and scroll to the Email section.
  2. Click Calendars and Contacts.
  3. Choose the account you want to sync, or select Configure Calendar and Contacts Client.
  4. cPanel displays the server and config URL along with your username. Keep this page open — you will enter these details in your device.
Tip Your username is the full email address and your password is the mailbox password. The server is typically mail.yourdomain.com.

Connecting an iPhone or iPad

  1. Open Settings and tap Calendar (or Contacts), then Accounts » Add Account » Other.
  2. Choose Add CalDAV Account for calendars, or Add CardDAV Account for contacts.
  3. Enter mail.yourdomain.com as the Server, your full email address as the User Name, and your mailbox password.
  4. Tap Next to verify, then Save.

Connecting macOS

  1. Open the Calendar app and go to Calendar » Add Account » Other CalDAV Account (use Contacts for CardDAV).
  2. Set the account type to Manual.
  3. Enter your full email address as the User Name, your mailbox password, and mail.yourdomain.com as the Server Address.
  4. Click Sign In.

Connecting Thunderbird

  1. Install the TbSync add-on together with its CalDAV & CardDAV provider.
  2. Open TbSync from the menu and choose Account actions » Add new account » CalDAV & CardDAV.
  3. Select Manual Configuration and paste the CalDAV and CardDAV URLs cPanel provided.
  4. Enter your full email address and mailbox password, then enable the calendars and address books you want to sync.

Sharing Calendars

You can share a calendar with other users so a team sees the same schedule. In your calendar client’s sharing settings, add the email address of the person you want to share with and choose whether they can view or edit. Everyone with access sees updates as soon as they sync.

Note If a device will not connect, double-check the server name and that you are using the full email address as the username. Our support ticket team can help confirm the correct settings.
